This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!

Artist Statement
Michael Orwick
Artists are not only mirrors of the world, but also keepers of the soul. We must often work not only to editorialize on current events and the sentiments of the masses, but it is often our job to also work as a counter balance. In a world of greed, we need to give more than ever; in a world of pain it is our chance to console; and in a world of doubt and uncertainty, it is our job to evoke hope and to remind ourselves of the beautiful basics of humanity. Paraphrased – Michael Orwick
Having difficulty in school because of his dyslexia, Michael turned to pictures to make the written word understandable and to help him communicate with others. Now native Oregon painter Michael Orwick, using strong lights and darks, and a simple color palette, creates unique tales where each viewer infers their distinctive yet universal stories. He has taken two paths with his art –contemporary landscape and fantasy.
His skill as a landscape artist creates compelling views of our world that move beyond time and place –full environments for your mind to explore, your senses to imagine… places as mysterious as Oregon’s craggy coast, as unpredictable as a glacial view of Mount Hood, or as serene as an Oregon waterfall. His works can remind us of Remington in his most enamored moments with the majestic West or of the Impressionists as he paints a dance of light on a pond or snow. Dragon fire Gallery Cannon Beach
Each fantasy piece stands on its own, while working in conjunction with the others to compel such basic concepts as curiosity, delight, dancing and quality napping. This is evident in his work from the mythical, to the whimsical, to the real. His work often evokes the tenderness and childlike earnestness of classics like The Giving Tree, and Where the Wild Things Are.
But Michael at his best melds pictorial storytelling with a hauntingly familiar world. His mermaids yield to the tidal pulls of the Pacific. His fairies dance between the rain forests
and the suburbs; his bears explore the wilderness.
In 2002 Michael was awarded first place in Duirwaigh Gallery’s Emerging Artist Competition, by a panel including Kinuko Y. Craft, Windy Froud, Robert Gould, and David Delamare. In 2004 and 2005, Epilogue listed Orwick in their The New Masters of Fantasy publication and CD, noting that a number of the young Northwest artist’s work is displayed “in a collection of the year’s best science fiction & fantasy work.”
